Pagliacci Streaming Event

[6/4/2020] For the past couple of months, we have been working on some contingency plans that will allow us to present our fall production of Pagliacci. Long story short, we are going into the movie business! Yes, you read that right. A film version of Pagliacci, set in the time of Covid-19. The best part of it all: you can see it without ever having to leave home!

Given that this approach is new to us, we have chosen not to produce Aleko this season and focus our effort on Pagliacci alone. Pagliacci is the story of a traveling theatre troupe headed by Canio, the abusive husband of Nedda. Nedda has been having an affair with a local man, Silvio. Canio finds out and confronts his wife and her lover in front of a live(stream) audience during their performance. Playing off of the popularity of live-streamed performances, we will make the show within the show a livestream event - and our chorus will be the consumers. To be clear, the final product is NOT a livestream, but rather a produced film put out onto a streaming platform.

Performers will record audio and video in their homes.  We will edit the numerous tracks and videos together digitally and release the finished product over a streaming platform. The final product will use footage of different people to give perspective on how the "audience" is interacting with the "livestream." We invite you to join us for this unique event. We anticipate a release date of mid-October 2020. More details will follow in coming weeks.
