Raylynmor's production of Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro will examine the peril of privilege and power through the prescient libretto of Lorenzo da Ponte and the original work of playwright Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais. While the original production is set in Seville, ours will be a more neutral setting, a stylized suburban America - something that should more closely resonate with the audience watching it in 2026. Raylynmor's production will explore themes of change, tracing the stagnating marriage between Count and Countess Almaviva from its lowest point to its satisfying moment of redemption at the end of the opera.
